3 tips that will get your offer emails opened
Do you recognise this? You’ve had a good conversation with your client, you spend time on a complete solar panel design plan, and an appropriate solar panel quote. You then send it via e-mail and… nothing happens. This can be a frustrating situation. With these three tips, you make sure your emails stand out, are less likely to end up in the spam box and so you don’t have to chase after potential customers.
1. Use your customer’s first name in the subject line
Make it personal and address your customer by their name. Do this directly in the subject line so it stands out right away. According to Campaign Monitor, putting the recipient’s first name in the subject line increases the chance of opening your e-mail by 26%. Small effort, high reward right?
2. Keep your subject line shorter than 40 characters
Most email programs cut off the subject line of your emails after 40 characters or about 7 words. So make sure you write it short and to the point, and put the most important thing first. 64% of recipients decide whether or not to open an e-mail based on the subject line (Barilliance, 2021). So an important part to pay attention to.
3. Make use of SMTP
SMT-what? Technical story, but what it boils down to is that you can send mails from your own e-mail address (technically from your own mail server) and mails are more quickly trusted by the receiving mailbox. As a result, e-mails are less likely to end up in the spam box. This way, you immediately increase the chances of your customer seeing your irresistible proposal. Because that is, of course, what you do it for.
Bonus tip: think carefully about the sender’s name, which sender would you be quicker to open the e-mail from?
“2Solar by Sollit” or “Francesca from 2Solar by Sollit”
Chances are you would open the second variant faster. The subject line and the sender’s name are the two most important components with which you can significantly increase – or decrease – the chances of your mail being opened.
Make it personal and give your mail a face by supplementing the ‘distant’ sender name with your name. This way, you subtly remind your customers of the good conversation they had with you.
Create unity with templates
Why keep these tips to yourself when you can help your whole team? In 2Solar, you make e-mail templates easily available to all your colleagues, so you can put these best practices into practice together. This way, you will achieve more success with a few minor adjustments.
